Students who are fully prepared to take this course have:

• earned at least a "C" in Cmpsc 101 (or an equivalent course)
• experience programming in a modern high-level language (like C++)
• taken IST 230 and IST 240
• learned how to work collaboratively with colleagues
• learned how to develop pseudocode algorithms
• learned good structured programming techniques
• an understanding of at least one data structure (preferably one-dimensional arrays)
